A glimpse into the creative world of Emil Ronnelin.
Welcome to the artist interview with Bloodstrokes. Let's hear what he has to say about his art, stickers and materials.
StickerApp: How would you define your style?
I like to draw things that are sweet and cute, and then waterboard it
StickerApp: What’s your favourite technique?
Bloodstrokes: I like to open up a blank canvas and just mess around with different brushes and textures until I figure something out.
StickerApp: Who or what is your biggest inspiration/s?
Bloodstrokes: Pretty much everything. Films, the smell of freshly cut grass, the blinding sunrays bouncing off a dirty window, the ticking buzz from a flickering lamppost, that greasy little kid next door who's always dirty and smells like cheese, music...
StickerApp: How did it all start?
Bloodstrokes: I've been doodling since I was a weak small child, my mum and dad are doodlers as well. Later on, comic books and the skateboard industry kept me going.
StickerApp: Do you have a tip for those who are starting out?
Bloodstrokes: Just have fun and go with the flow. Copy the style of other artists that you like and try to figure out how to translate it into your own ideas. Maybe buy a cool hat and some comfy trousers to boost your confidence.
StickerApp: Favourite app/program?
Bloodstrokes: Last year I got my paws on an iPad (shout-out to MajMaj) and began to play around in Procreate, it quickly became my favourite program.
StickerApp: Why do you use StickerApp?
Bloodstrokes: There's a lot of different fun materials to try out and the quality is absolutely exquisite!
StickerApp: What’s your favourite sticker material? why?
Bloodstrokes: The holographic material is my favourite for sure. I have always loved that kind of effect, it looks so cool.
StickerApp: How do you use stickers for your own business/personal brand?
Bloodstrokes: I slap them on everything and everyone. And if you catch me in a good mood I'll sell them to you for a coin.
Thank you so much Emil, hope to see more stickers of your super nice art soon.
