Step into the surreal, slightly twisted, and always playful world of Lumps, the creation of illustrator Sam Drew.
Sam began his career as a digital illustrator and graphic designer, followed by a self-taught deep dive into animation, giving his quirky characters a whole new kind of movement and mischief.
Playful yet unsettling, polished yet sketchy, his work captures that perfect in-between where humor meets weirdness, whether it’s 2D drawings, animated loops, or 3D models.
What began as a small side project slowly developed into the Lumps Collector's Club: a collectible universe packed with oddball characters, trading cards, prints, stickers, and curious little objects that blur the line between art and toy culture.
We sat down with Sam to talk about the joy of creating, collecting, and connecting.

StickerApp: Hi Sam, and congratulations on your Collector's Club. What a success! For those who doesn't know what it is, can you sum it up in an elevator pitch?
Sam: Thanks a lot! Ok, here goes:
The Lumps Collector's Club is a subscription-based service where you’ll receive exclusive monthly packs filled with limited-edition prints, stickers, rare objects, and the chance to receive original artwork directly from my Studio. Each item is one-of-a-kind, and once it’s gone, it’s never reprinted.
StickerApp: Crystal clear! How did you come up with the idea?
Sam: I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, but things really started to take shape in 2016 when I went freelance. Back then, my focus was mainly on digital illustration and graphic design, but as more projects came in, I was able to make illustration my full-time thing.
Launching the Collector’s Club has completely transformed how I work. Instead of dropping prints, stickers, and other pieces at random, alongside my paid assignments as a freelancer, I now have a consistent way to share new creations and build a real community around them.
StickerApp: So cool. What would you say is the essence of the Collector's Club?
Sam: The magic word is “collecting.” Each issue includes plenty of fun stand-alone stuff, but at its core are the collectible items: the stickers and the cards from the Lumps Original Series, a massive hit that’s sparked fans and friends to connect, trade duplicates, and hunt down the cards they’re missing.
StickerApp: Is this the case also for the stickers?
Sam: Oh, absolutely! Same goes for the stickers. Each issue packs five random stickers, but our collab features plenty more - I can’t reveal how many though, wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise, haha!
StickerApp: Speaking of stickers: What do you look for in a sticker?
Sam: In general, I love stickers that bring my illustrations to life. My work is weird, odd, and a little uncanny, and I like to highlight those quirks by printing on colorful, expressive materials. Holographic stickers are my absolute favorite; the way light hits them is different every time. It’s also one of those materials you can only truly appreciate in person; no photo or screen ever does it justice.

StickerApp: Beyond the Collector's Club, what role do stickers play in your business?
Sam: Besides the Collector's Club, I use StickerApp to make stickers that go out with shop orders. They’re such a fun, affordable way to add something extra; little tokens that people can stick on their laptops, sketchbooks, or phone cases. I love that they get to live out in the world like that, carrying a tiny piece of the Lumps universe into everyday life.
