Why does my temporary tattoo look mirrored?

Temporary Tattoos are printed in reverse on purpose. You place them face down on the skin, so the design flips and ends up the right way round.

Before you apply

When your temporary tattoos arrive, the designs may look mirrored. That's intentional.

Why it's printed in reverse

You apply the tattoo face down on the skin. When the paper comes off, the design flips, so it ends up the right way round, with text readable and shapes facing the right direction.

You don't need to change anything

It can look confusing the first time you see your design in print, but don't adjust or flip anything. Apply it as usual and it comes out correctly.

The same principle is used for some window stickers: see mirror print in the Dictionary. Step-by-step instructions are in How do I apply and remove them?, and you can read more about Temporary Tattoos or how to make custom temporary tattoos.
